Newspaper and online TV listings often don’t cover Showcase TV – hence it can be difficult to find out what is on. The free android app “TV Guide+” does cover the Eurocinema offering on Showcase andis a good place to start.The company advise that things are still settling down so it is difficult to provide advance notice of what is going to be shown (sometimes only being firmed up a couple of days before). The company have promised to provide me with a couple of day’s confirmation of the listings so please follow me on twitter @Eurocinemafan for updates and info on the films. The listings that I have posted are subject to change, but so far have proved to be pretty accurate.

At the moment, we are unlikely to get much notice of the detail of the European Shorts. This is a pity, but I can heartily recommend recording the slot and watching it when you fancy a half-hour or hour of quality viewing. The nationality, genres etc are a mixed bag but most of the shorts have won or been nominated for awards and there are some real gems. We don’t know how long Eurocinema has booked the slot for on Showcase but seem to be testing the demand. I think it is really worth supporting as it offers something not found anywhere else so please spread the word.
